ON THE ANNIVERSARY OF HIS DEATH

Remember and Honor Yousuf by
Giving to His Family

Five years ago, Mohammed Yousuf—my best friend, was murdered in Kashmir.  July 1 is the death anniversary—a big day for all those who knew him.

Yousuf did not die in vain but his life is still bearing fruit for God.

A sad day. I am broken hearted. I am so sorry that Mohammed Yousuf was killed in cold blood. I loved him with my whole heart. I have many tears as I write this.

I know that there are many that miss him, especially his family,  and we are all deeply hurt by his loss. Yousuf did not die in vain. He was a light—a hope—to the masses, to the faceless villagers and city folks that knew nothing else but a living hope in Mohammed Yousuf!

Those that knew Yousuf learned something about the knowledge of God, and His character. Those that followed Yousuf have so much potential because they stand on his shoulders of courage, justice and hope. He gave them life when they knew only war and hatred.

Those that heard his message and followed were transformed into a life of confidence and hope. Yousuf loved his family. He joked with his wife. They planted and reaped together in the fields and loved their children with everything they had.

I know that Yousuf understood the heart of God and gave his daughters an inheritance. This is what Yousuf believed for his daughters and wife—a great inheritance,  a hope that can never be taken away! A freedom to dream and to choose what our future will be. Mohammed Yousuf, a son, a brother, friend and husband, father and businessman, village leader and giver of hope!

My little Joshua remembers you every week,  every time He says his name—Joshua Yousuf.

I love you forever. Thank you for teaching me what it means to love people and to go the extra mile. To take many phone calls in the middle of the night and bring strangers and friends to the hospital. To always trust and believe people. To think the best. To believe that you were chosen before the foundations of the world—and to live from that belief—and to be the world changer that you are!  Your influence continues long after you are gone, but we miss you so much!

I am jealous that I cannot be with you. I love you Yousuf, I miss you every day! But I know that we will meet again. We will laugh, we will remember, we will celebrate! We will break delicious fresh bread and eat roast lamb together with all who have come and believe.

This five-year anniversary is to be celebrated in every way,  because you believed, you became successful in each and every way because, yes, you believed!

In honor of Yousuf's death and continued influence, please prayerfully give to support his family.

With Love,

Greg
